A first-half double from Inter's Marta Pandini condemned Fiorentina to a 2-0 defeat at the Stadio Breda in Milan on Saturday.

The match got off to a nightmare start for the Viola, as Pandini exchanged one-touch passes with Ghoutia Karchouni before lifting the ball over Katja Schroffenegger and into the net on five minutes.

The Nerazzurre doubled their lead just 15 minutes later. Flaminia Simonetti saw her effort well saved by Schroffenegger but Pandini was perfectly placed to tap home the rebound.

A thrilling contest materialised, with plenty of goal-scoring opportunities for both teams, but Patrizia Panico's side failed to take their chances and depart Milan empty-handed.

They will have the chance to bounce back in their next contest, at home to Roma on the weekend of 23rd and 24th April, after the upcoming international break.
