Fiorentina had to settle for a point after a late Lazio equaliser earned them a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Bozzi on Saturday afternoon.

Valentina Giacinti set up the opener with a clever pass for Veronica Boquete to control on the turn and angle her finish inside the far post for her first goal in Viola colours.

Lazio restored parity five minutes later when Noemi Visentin's shot from out wide took a deflection off Stephanie Breitner and looped over the helpless Sabrina Tasselli to make it 1-1 at the break.

Patrizia Panico's girls came out after the restart intent on taking the lead again and did so on the hour mark when a beautifully worked team move ended with Daniela Sabatino slotting home from close range. It was her tenth of the campaign and makes her the only player to have reached double figures in Serie A in each of the last ten seasons.

Giacinti might have wrapped it up for the Viola when one on one with Stephanie Ohrstrom but the former Fiorentina keeper denied her.

As the game entered the dying moments, Visentin got a rather fortuitous touch on a long ball forward and finished to seal a 2-2 final scoreline

The Viola will be back in action next Saturday when they visit Sampdoria for a 12:30 kick-off.
