The Viola head into the international break having put in a convincing display against visitors Hellas Verona on Sunday. Jonathan Ikone got Fiorentina off to a great start with a fantastic individual effort after just under 15 minutes of the game. He made a dizzying 50-yard run before slotting it past Lorenzo Montipo. The Verona goalkeeper had a busy day ahead of him as Vincenzo Italiano’s men looked threatening, with at least eight clear chances saved by the Gialloblu number one. Although it was a much quieter game at the other end for Pietro Terracciano, he was ready when needed and produced a fine save to maintain the lead. In the final moments, Fiorentina managed to double their lead through Nico Gonzalez to give the home side a 2-0 win.
