20 December 2020

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli faces the press ahead of Juventus v Fiorentina, Matchday 14 in Serie A 2020/21, and final game of 2020.

ON THE ATTITUDE - "We must be brave, attack with several players - this is the right attitude, and with this mentality we can have a great game. Right now we must think about our mentality. In recent games we saw the right attitude, helping each other, overcoming difficulties. These two draws came against two good sides. The mentality fuels the performance. Right now we're mentally ready. We need to continue like this, we need consistency. I don't want to look at the past. What's done is done. I am convinced that when a team has clear ideas, mentality, a style of play, all players, even the less talented, improve and do well. All the players must feel part of the group. I am convinced we can take points in every game. We need to become solid first, then we can improve on our attacking side."

ON THE OBJECTIVES - "The aim is to reach the 40-point mark, we must learn to play like a team fighting to avoid relegation. Of course some fans we'll be happier or less happy than others - we respect everyone's opinion, we accept every criticism. We must all understand that our aim now is to reach the 40-point mark. We're working to improve, working on one-on-ones, and we need to improve in possession. Recently we didn't create much, but we also didn't concede much. We need a bit of luck to win as well."

ON JUVENTUS - It's a weird season, with a weird schedule. The team must be convinced of what we're doing, and we must make the most of anyone's mistake, including at Juventus. There's no such thing as a perfect team. We must understand the best moment to hurt Juventus. I want my team to take risks. "Pirlo is quickly improving, in two months his side is showing a clear brand of football. Juventus have several players who can be decisive up front, including Chiesa."

ON THE INDIVIDUALS -  "I want Castrovilli to play with a free mind, take risks, use his quality. Of course, growing up people expect more from you. I want him to take risks, try things. He has quality. We're still waiting to see who's fully fit and who's in good form for Juventus. Igor has been training well always, Caceres is doing fine. I am very happy with Callejon, with what he's doing on the pitch."
